RAF Typhoon to use sustainable aviation fuel and normal fossil fuel

  • 18th Jul 2024

We are delighted to announce that the RAF Typhoon aircraft display at this year’s Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) will be powered using a blend of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and normal fossil fuel.

The aircraft is manufactured by BAE Systems the headline sponsor of RIAT.

The display at RAF Fairford this Saturday and Sunday will be the first time the aircraft has displayed to the public using the blended sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

Chief Executive Officer for Royal Air Force Charitable Trust Enterprises, Paul Atherton said: “We are really pleased this is taking place at RAF Fairford, and I would like to thank both the Royal Air Force and BAE Systems for their support in bringing this to fruition.”
