RAFCTE is best known for staging the world renowned Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire each year. In 2003, RIAT was granted status as the largest military air show globally by Guinness World Records. In addition to the heads of many of the world’s air forces and major suppliers to the sector, RIAT also hosts thousands of aviation enthusiasts and members of the public over three days. As well as aviation the event is increasingly a family day out, with the exceptional Techno Zone® providing unique interactive STEM activities, under the banner of RAFCT’s mission to inspire young people to fulfil their potential in air, space and technology. In total, over 200,000 people attended RIAT in 2024.
What are we looking for?
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Supports Finance operations for RAFCTE
- Create sales reports on a weekly basis to report on the company’s performance
- Create ad-hoc reports as required by all departments of the company
- Process external suppliers’ invoices by using Docusign and Sage Intacct, ensuring they have the correct approval limits
- Maintaining accurate purchase ledger records on Sage Intacct
- Raise client sales invoices on Sage Intacct
- Maintaining accurate sales ledger records on Sage Intacct
- Run the payment run on a weekly basis
- Manage and maintain RAFCT’s accounts monthly
- Manage and maintain FSDP’s accounts monthly
- Run and issue the debtors report and keep track of debtors and chase where necessary
- Assist on the preparation of management accounts monthly.
- Finance Gate Manager at RIAT
- Assist the Finance Manager in preparation of the show week: ordering floats, receive delivery of the safes, preparing paperwork
- Assist the Finance Manager in issuing floats and paperwork to teams
- Manage and assist volunteer team working on the gates
- Count and bank cash received over the show week daily
Type of contract/working hours:
We are seeking a part-time employee for a flexible schedule of 3-5 days per week, totalling 21.75 hours per week. Term time only would be considered. This position is a fixed-term contract (FTC) until September 2025 and is for maternity cover.
What we will offer:
A salary of £ £23,690.00 pro rata is accompanied by a pension, and we also hold staff wellbeing and social events throughout the year.
About you:
If you have Finance knowledge with experience of sage or other accounting software, along with numeracy, and organisational skills, we encourage you to apply. In addition, you must be
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Word/ Excel/ Outlook Closer/Finisher
- Strong attention to Detail
- Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, multitask, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Team player that looks to support Operations continual improvement
