RAFCTE is best known for staging the world renowned Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire each year. In 2003, RIAT was granted status as the largest military air show globally by Guinness World Records. In addition to the heads of many of the world’s air forces and major suppliers to the sector, RIAT also hosts thousands of aviation enthusiasts and members of the public over three days. As well as aviation the event is increasingly a family day out, with the exceptional Techno Zone® providing unique interactive STEM activities, under the banner of RAFCT’s mission to inspire young people to fulfil their potential in air, space and technology. In total, over 200,000 people attended RIAT in 2024.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join us to help in the delivery of the Royal International Air Tattoo 2025.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Support the delivery of the Customer Service function as first point of contact for general email and telephone enquiries on behalf of RAFCTE and RIAT.
- Deliver the RAFCTE Customer Service Charter including achieving service standards set out in the charter.
- Ensure all customer and company data captured is done so in full compliance of company policy and our GDPR compliant processes.
- Monitor stationary supplies for Douglas Bader House and ensure effective advance ordering for requirements is achieved for the organisation.
- Process customer complaints and refunds in line with our Customer Service Charter
Type of contract/working hours:
FTC 10/03/2025 until 20/08/2025
36.25 hours per week. Based in Fairford, Gloucestershire
All employees are required to work the Saturday or Sunday before the Royal International Air Tattoo and the whole weekend of the event.
RIAT Weekend Date: 18th-20th July 2025
What we will offer:
A salary of £24,333.75 pro rata is accompanied by pension and a focus on staff wellbeing and social events throughout the year.
You will also be given two complimentary tickets to The Royal International Air Tattoo and a staff discount of 50% for an additional six.
About you:
If you possess GCSE qualifications, including Maths and English, along with prior experience in a customer service role and experience team or office setting, and you exhibit strong verbal communication skills, we strongly encourage you to apply for the position of Customer Services Assistant.
Experience in the events or customer service industries would be a huge advantage.
