About the role:
The RIAT Food Safety Manager is a part of the RIAT Functional Safety Team which is made up of 9 volunteers who provide advice, assistance and monitoring on Health and Safety, Fire and Food Safety matters. You should be qualified as Level 4 in Food Safety.
Main Responsibilities will include:
- Providing specialist advice on food safety matters in accordance with current food safety legislation to RIAT Staff
- Planning for and undertaking arrival checks on all food trader’s facilities and foodstuffs brought onto site (including temperature monitoring/recording)
- Planning and undertaking Showground Food Safety monitoring
- ICW Functional safety Manager, liaising with Local Authority on food safety related matters
- Supervising Food Safety Assistant in their inspection and monitoring role
What commitment is required?
7 days (Tuesday prior to Show to COB Monday post Show)

Travel:
In line with our sustainability commitment, we strongly encourage volunteers to car share wherever possible, and/or utilise public transport.
The following is in place to support our volunteers with any out-of-pocket expenses.
- Motor Mileage: Claim 45p per mile (maximum 315 miles) return mileage to RIAT and to encourage car sharing, an additional 5p per additional passenger may be claimed by the vehicle driver.
- Train Fare: Travel should be standard class; reimbursement will be made up to the maximum claim amount (£100.00) on the production of receipts, tickets, or confirmation email.
