About the role:

The Techno Zone® Crew are to provide support and assistance to the Techno Zone® and Sponsorship team during the set-up phase and over the show weekend. The Techno Zone® Crew will be responsible for working to facilitate the load in, operation and derig of the Techno Zone®. 

Main Responsibilities will include:

  • Meet and greet visitors as they arrive at Techno Zone 
  • Assist visitors by understanding their interests and directing them to key attractions like hands-on exhibits, and Inspire Stage sessions
  • Actively interact with visitors, such as helping families take photos, and engaging kids with fun activities 
  • Assist in organising queues for popular attractions while keeping visitors entertained by answering questions, or sparking conversations about Techno Zone® features
  • Spot visitors who may need assistance or guidance and offer friendly, proactive help
  • Stay informed about all activities, exhibits, and showcases within the Techno Zone, as well as their locations 
  • Be aware of protocols for emergencies, such as medical incidents, lost visitors, or tech malfunctions, and who to contact for assistance

What commitment is required?

6 Days - Wednesday pre-event to Monday post event 

A training session via Microsoft Teams in late May

Travel:

In line with our sustainability commitment, we strongly encourage volunteers to car share wherever possible, and/or utilise public transport.

The following is in place to support our volunteers with any out-of-pocket expenses.   

  • Motor Mileage: Claim 45p per mile (maximum 315 miles) return mileage to RIAT and to encourage car sharing, an additional 5p per additional passenger may be claimed by the vehicle driver.   
  • Train Fare: Travel should be standard class; reimbursement will be made up to the maximum claim amount (£100.00) on the production of receipts, tickets, or confirmation email.
