F-16 x 2 - Denmark
The Royal Danish Air Force, one of the original European Participating Air Forces who chose the F-16 Fighting Falcon as a replacement for the F-104 Starfighter, will join RIAT 2018's celebration of RAF100. The base at Skrydstrup in southern Jutland now houses Denmark's entire fleet of Fighting Falcons, all F-16A/B Mid-Life Upgrade (MLU) examples. A total of 30 operational examples are on strength at any one time, split between two squadrons. Recent taskings have included the Baltic Air Policing mission, providing air defence for the Baltic states - a role of increased importance as a result of the situation in Ukraine.
