F-16C - Turkey
Only the US and Israel operate more F-16s than Turkey, making the Turkish Air Force one of the world's leading users of this famous fighter. The single-seat F-16Cs and two-seat F-16Ds it operates - around 240 in all - were mostly built locally by Turkish Aerospace Industries. The Solotürk demonstration, piloted this year by Capt Erhan Günar and 1st Lt Serdar Doğan, uses a specially painted Block 40 F-16C from 132 Filo (Squadron) stationed at the 3rd Main Jet Base at Konya. Turkey first sent F-16s to the Air Tattoo at Cottesmore in 2001; Solotürk made its debut in 2011 and has returned on several occasions since, most recently in 2017.
