JAS-39 Gripen - Czech Republic

The Czech Air Force currently operates 12 JAS 39C Gripen multirole fighter aircraft. The Air Force's fleet of MiG-21s reached the end of their service in 2005 and the Czech Government soon reached an agreement to lease a number of aircraft from the Swedish Government. In 2014 the Czech's approved the extension of the Gripen lease until 2027, meaning the Czech Air Force will have this critical multirole fighter capability for at least another decade. The aircraft are from the 211th Tactical Squadron based at Čáslav.
