Tornado GR.4 x 2 - UK
For so long the mainstay of the RAF's strike force, the Tornado GR4 is now in its twilight years. Two examples will be sent for static display at RIAT by 9 Squadron and 31 Squardon, stationed at RAF Marham. The RAF Tornado GR4 force has been heavily engaged in combat operations during recent years, including Operation 'Herrick' over Afghanistan and Operation 'Ellamy' in Libya. The two-seat Tornado GR4 remains at the cutting edge of RAF precision strike thanks to numerous upgrades, providing day, night and all-weather capabilities. It is also a highly versatile reconnaissance asset. Tornados - first the GR1 and then the GR4 - have been continuously deployed to operational theatres since 1990, a remarkable record.
