Aero Vodochody L-159A ALCA
This year's Air Tattoo sees the return of a Czech Air Force Aero L-159 ALCA to the static display, from Čáslav Air Base. This indigenous light attack fighter was developed by Aero Vodochody as an advanced westernised relative of the popular L-39 Albatros jet trainer. The type has seen limited international success and is operated by both the Czech and Iraqi Air Forces. However, the L-159 has found great success as an aggressor aircraft in the United States after private companies purchased surplus Czech Air Force aircraft, in this role the L-159 is known as the Honey Badger.
