CASA C-295MPA Persuader

Making their first visit to this year's Air Tattoo will be 2 Squadron of the Royal Air Force of Oman with their Airbus C-295MPA Persuader maritime patrol aircraft. Developed from the C-295 medium tactical transport, the Persuader retains its cargo hold and loading ramp allowing it carry air droppable rescue rafts or palletised cargo without having to remove the specialist mission operator stations installed in the cabin. In addition to a host of mission-specific sensors, the Persuader has six wing-mounted hardpoints allowing it to carry a wide range of external stores including anti-ship missiles and torpedoes. The Royal Air Force of Oman received their first C295MPA during 2014 and operate a total fleet of four aircraft.
