Cessna Grand Caravan EX
The single-turboprop Cessna 208B Caravan EX utility aircraft has been put to a huge variety of uses, often in demanding environments. Passenger and cargo transport are its primary roles, but it is also a useful military platform for special duties of one type or another. Foremost among these is ISR (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance), for which the Caravan has been acquired by the Iraqi Air Force, armed with Hellfire anti-armour missiles. Search and rescue, para-troop dropping, survey/mapping work and medical evacuation are among the type's other potential military uses. Cessna's parent company Textron Aviation is sending a Caravan special missions demonstrator aircraft to RIAT 2022.
