Embraer EMB-314 Super Tucano
The Super Tucano is making its second appearance at RIAT. Developed from the original Tucano, RAF licence-built examples of which are on display this weekend, the Super Tucano represents the next evolution of the type. The design has been significantly lengthened and structurally altered to allow for a more powerful engine to be fitted together with internal machine guns and precision guided ordnance, it is now a potent combat aircraft. Developed as a light attack aircraft for patrolling the vast open spaces of Brazil, the type has found favour the world over for combating insurgents and terrorists. The Brazilian Display team the Esquadrilha de Fumaꞔa has recently converted from the Tucano on to the Super Tucano too.
