Lockheed C-130H Hercules
The Royal Jordanian Air Force C-130H is a familiar sight at Air Tattoo static line ups. Stationed at King Abdullah Air Base in the capital Amman, the aircraft belonging to No. 3 Squadron is part of the RJAF's Air Lift Wing. The Jordanian Hercules fleet today numbers ten active aircraft, comprising seven C-130H models and a trio of C-130Es. Three of the C-130H aircraft were recently donated by the US Air Force at the end of 2021/beginning of 2022 as part of their Ramp to Ramp (R2R) program to dispose of surplus fully operational C-130s from the US inventory. In addition, the three C-130Es were also donated in 2011-12 by the US Air Force as part of a previous agreement. Its first examples were C-130Bs delivered in the 1970s. Jordan uses the Hercules for a variety of transport missions, including humanitarian relief efforts.
