Westland Sea Lynx Mk.88A
Flown in the Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) role when operating from one German Navy's Frigates, a single German Navy Mk88A Sea Lynx will join us this year at the Air Tattoo. A total of 21 of these helicopters are on strength with the Marineflieger based at Nordholz Naval Airbase which was originally built as a base for Zeppelin airships being used to bomb Britain during World War One. The Marineflieger is currently replacing its legacy helicopters with the new Sea Lion & Sea Tiger helicopters, so this could be one of the final times we see the venerable Sea Lynx at the Air Tattoo.
