Pilatus PC-12

The PC-12 is a single engine turboprop powered passenger and cargo plane produced by Pilatus in Switzerland. The aircraft was developed in secret until its announcement in 1989 in order to not reveal that they had identified a new market for a single engine high speed aircraft. The PC-12 features a large cargo door allowing for easy access for passengers and loading cargo, over 2,000 have been built to date. The PC-12 has also found military success with several air forces including the Finnish and Irish who use it as a utility aircraft. The USAF are also a user of the type who call it the U-28A Draco in support of special operations forces.

Finland currently operates a fleet of six PC-12NGs which were acquired to replace their aging fleet of Piper Chieftans and Valmet Redigos in 2009. The aircraft is flown by all three of Finland's Air Commands for transport and medical evacuation duties, particularly on short or icy runways.

The Finnish Air Force will be sending one of their PC-12s to RIAT 2023 in support of its other participating aircraft, it is not envisaged that the aircraft will appear on static display.
