Grob 120TP
The Grob G 120TP is a twin seat turboprop training aircraft with side-by-side seating and full aerobatic capability. The aircraft is made of composite materials and has a fully retractable undercarriage. The Grobs controls are similar to frontline military aircraft including Hands on Throttle and Stick (HOTAS) controls. The aircrafts performance means that it can also be used for basic jet training if needed. The Grob 120TP has been in production since 2010 and is currently operated by 13 different militaries around the world.
Both QinetiQ with the Empire Test Pilots School and the RAF as the Prefect operate the Grob 120TP operate the type in the UK. The RAF use the Prefect as its basic trainer and the examples flown by QinetiQ have been modified to specifically train test pilots.
Whilst examples of the type will be on static display this year from the RAF and QinetiQ, Grob will also be providing their demonstrator aircraft for static display at RIAT 2024.
