Learjet C-21A

The Learjet 35 is a relatively small twin-engined business jet which was produced up until 1994. Upon its debut, Learjet claimed this jet was the fastest business jet available on the market which was proven by the golfer Arnold Palmer who flew around the world in one in under 57.5 hours. Over 700 Learjet 35s were built and the vast majority are still in use today.

The USAF operate the Learjet 35 as the C-21A and the fleet of 56 aircraft were delivered between 1984 and 1985. In addition to being able to carry eight passengers, the aircraft are capable of carrying wounded in a medical evacuation role.

The 76th Airlift Squadron of the USAF will be providing one of their C-21As for static display at this year’s Air Tattoo as part of our NATO 75th theme. The unit forms part of the 86th Airlift Wing and is based at Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
