The Take Off Zone is a great base to see the action on the runway and in the air, for aviation enthusiasts and also for those seeking a vibrant atmosphere filled with diverse food, drink, shopping and entertainment.

Get selfies with pilots, see the unique souvenirs sold in the Aircrew Trading area, and enjoy an unrivalled view of the action from the upper deck of the Double Decker Bus Bar. Launch your RIAT experience at the Take Off Zone at the eastern end of the showground.

    Grab a chance to chat with the pilots participating in the fantastic flying displays. And the Aircrew Trading close by, you can even buy air force memorabilia from around the world.

    Be entertained by music at the Bandstand in the heart of the Take Off Zone, artists including The Bluebirds, The Femmes and Jay Hutchinson playing vintage songs from the 1940s and reworkings of modern classics.

    The shopping experience at the Take Off Zone is equally diverse. Stalls and kiosks sell handcrafted jewellery, vintage and handmade fashion, unique art and ceramics, and military surplus kit too.
