Why become a Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) Volunteer?

There are many reasons why someone might decide to become a volunteer at RIAT.

Not only is it fun and hugely rewarding, but it also offers opportunities to make new friends, learn new skills and apply existing ones, whilst supporting a great cause, the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust (RAFCT).

AT RIAT, there's no such thing as a stereotypical volunteer.  As one of the leading, international aviation events, our 1250+ volunteers are as diverse as the many aircraft that join us from around the world each year.  Whoever you are and whatever your background, we believe we have a rewarding volunteer role to suit you.

See what some of our volunteers have to say for yourself:

Volunteer Application Process Final Version

How do I apply to be a RIAT Volunteer?

To be eligible to volunteer, you must be 18 years of age or over, travelling from within the UK and as a minimum, available on all public show days (18th, 19th and 20th July). We are unable to accept applications with less than 3 days availability.

Following submission, a member of Volunteer Engagement will review your application and where possible, match you with a suitable role. The relevant Team Manager will then contact you to arrange a Telephone or Teams interview, to discuss your application further. This will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.

We receive a large number of applications and cannot guarantee a role will be available. Please also understand that certain volunteer roles may require a specialist skillset, qualification and/ or certification, therefore if you do not have any experience or qualifications with regards to aircraft, it is unlikely you will be put into one of our volunteer teams who have a hands-on requirement interfacing directly with aircraft.

If you wish to volunteer please click here: Volunteer Application and create a new account.
